The young boy in this piece is kneeling on the ground, giving his very large dog a big hug. The boy is barefoot, wearing a ball cap (on backwards) and overalls. His arms are wrapped wide around the sitting dog. The boy’s feet are crossed behind him and his toes are curled up. The dog’s very large face is resting on the boy’s shoulder, looking upward.
First Love was graciously donated by Ann Lancaster.
First Love is now displayed as public art in the Bee Cave Galleria at the entrance to the BCAF gallery next to Dillards.
